Trauma Informed Practice

We are based in the West Midlands and have been providing child and family therapeutic services, school support and training since 2008. Our aim is to achieve real change for children and families through promoting positive relationships via a range of therapies and training. At Blueskies we work with the whole child. This holistic way of working means the people around the child are involved in the therapeutic process. We believe building this support network and working together achieves the best, most long lasting outcome for the child.

Our background is working therapeutically in education so a priority will be working with the child’s teacher and support staff to help them understand what the child’s behaviour may be communicating. We can offer advice and strategies to help school support the child to settle to learn, build better relationships and achieve their academic potential. Bespoke training packages can be designed for schools as well as a variety of other settings.
As an approved adoption support provider we are able to offer not only Play Therapy and Filial Therapy to adoption agencies and local authorities but also Therapeutic Life Story Work. Jennifer's Diploma (Distinction) in Therapeutic Life Story Work was achieved after studying with Richard Rose at the Institute for Arts in Therapy and Education (IATE). We believe all children should be able to receive the most appropriate response / therapy and we are excited to extend TLSW to the 'Blueskies' range of services.
